The Devil is in the Details. For legal matters, whether personal or business, it is often said that it requires a sharp eye and an even sharper mind. When he is not lawyering, Joel is a serial entrepreneur creating businesses focused on personal development including SAT Prep and College Admissions (since 1996), Continuing Legal Education for Lawyers and Doctors (since 2014), and individual coaching to pass the bar exam (since 2006). Joel co-chaired Howard Law's Bar Mentorship Program from 2006 thru 2015 helping over 150 law school graduates become admitted to practice law in Maryland. He has dedicated himself to researching and facilitating professional development and improving critical thinking skills needed to excel in one's chosen profession.
Joel is Past President of the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association, and Past President of the international Howard University Law Alumni Association. He earned his Masters in Law in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center. Joel is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Maryland Court of Appeals, the US Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for Maryland.
